Annual Sports Facility Opening And Clean Up Day At The GCC

If you have any of the following bring this with you to help with the clean up:

Wheelbarrows (one)
Rakes (6-8)
Chainsaw (one)
Lopping shears (one)
Miscellaneous tools (box/open face wrenches (1/4" to 1")
Personal work gloves
Any sort of mower or powered trimmers

Typical tasks needing to be accomplished:

Main field layout and lining. Can be done prior to the this day
Placement of main field goals, anchoring and goal net securing
Mini field lay-out and lining
Rake all debris along main field perimeter fence
Rake and removal of all debris from green space north of main field
Rake and removal of debris at green space west of main filed
Rake and removal of debris on west mini-field
Trimming along all fence lines
Picnic tables placed on the patio
All garbage receptacles to be washed inside and lined with proper trash bags
Change rooms and washrooms cleaned and sanitized
Placement of all eligible banners on perimeter fence

Your help is needed and greatly appreciated as 'many hands make light work' as the saying goes.

City Of London Sports Volunteer Recognition Award


Jurgen Klaus was nominated jointly by the German Canadian Football Club executive and our women's soccer program to receive an award from the City Of London Sports Council for his dedication, tireless efforts and outstanding leadership in all aspects of soccer at our club and in our community. In May 2025, Jurgen was selected as a recepient for this award by the City Of London Sports Council.

The German Canadian FC was proud to accept this award in Jurgen's honour. Although we lost Jurgen in October 2024, the effects of his work continues to have a lasting impact and is a testament to the legacy he leaves behind.
